so, jetzt bin ich auch mal dran mit heulen
Also, folgendes: neuer PC gekauft, Edgy draufgeknallt (parallel zu Windows, unter dem ich dieses Problem nicht habe da Treiber beiliegend) und ich kriege auf meinem frisch-neuem Riesenbildschirm nur eine Auflösung von 1280x1024 hin.
Xorg.conf editiert mit 1680x1050, und jetzt spuckt er mir die Auflösung von 1920x1440 entgegen.
Meine Grafikkarte ist eine Intel Q965/Q963, die, wie schon oben erwähnt, unter Windows die gewünschte Auflösung problemlos hinlegt.

Habs schon mit 915resolution versucht, bis ich gemerkt hab, dass das bei mir nix bringt.
Ich wär Vorschlägen und Hilfestellungen nicht abgeneigt, im Gegenteil
