webcam an USB 1, Bandbreitenproblem

Hallo.

Weil Ihr Euch immer auf neue Beiträge freut, richte ich mal mein Problem an Euch:

Ich habe einen DELL Inspiron 8200 mit USB 1 ports. Des weiteren habe ich eine Hercules Dualpix HD webcam, die an einem der USB 1 ports hängt. Unter Windows XP läuft die webcam einwandfrei, jedoch nicht unter Linux (Mint 11.04, 32 Bit). Wenn ich die webcam an einen der USB 2 ports einer PCMCIA Karte im 8200er einstecke, dann läuft die Kamera unter Linux.

Folglich ist das Problem ein Problem mit der Bandbreite der USB 1 ports. Aber warum geht das unter Windows?

Habt Ihr eine Idee?

Hallo,

es scheint, als könne man diesem Treiber keine Option mit auf dem Weg geben, die Bandbreite zu ändern. Eine solche Option bringt bei anderen Treibern wohl Abhilfe. modinfo gspca_ov534 sagt dazu nichts aus. Müsste man recherchieren, was der Treiber sonst noch bietet und ggf. selbst kompilieren.

Ich habe dem Autor von 'ov534' höchst persönlich eine Email geschrieben, bzgl. Optionen und dergleichen. Ich hoffe, dass er demnächst wieder in der Uni ist. Ich halte Euch auf dem Laufenden ...
